Support for Cancer Care Patients

FVHH’s Hands of Hope program provides support for patients undergoing cancer treatments at area clinics and hospitals, as well as their families. Volunteers provide emotional support with a non-intrusive, comforting presence that sends a message of care, compassion and hope.

Patients are provided with items and services designed to enhance emotional comfort and reduce stress. These items can include various genres of music, books, blankets and pillows, hand massages, movies, seasonal activities, a selection of teas and other refreshments, and comfort care packages.

Interested in becoming a Hands of Hope volunteer? We provide 35 hours of volunteer training as well as HIPAA Privacy training. Contact Adriana Torres, Manager of Volunteer Services.
