21st Annual Garden Party

Over 500 people attended the 21st Annual Garden Party, Fox Valley Hands of Hope’s biggest fundraiser! More than $40,000 worth of showcase prizes and $30,000 in live and silent auction items were presented at the event, which was held on June 10th at The Q Center in St. Charles.

The 2019 Garden Party was emceed by the Hon. Ray Rogina, Mayor of St. Charles, and included entertainment during the luncheon from Vito Zatto a “Vegas Style Singer & Entertainer.” The event featured 17 showcase raffles, as well as more than 100 Silent Auction items and several Live Auction items for vacations and experiences. Also included was a 50/50 Raffle and a Jewelry Mystery Box Pull.

FVHH was honored to welcome our speaker, Kimberly Verner, who shared with guests of the unexpected passing of her 16 year old son, Darion, due to an undiagnosed heart problem, while playing in a basketball game in March of 2017. Kimberly eloquently spoke of her families experience at Fox Valley Hands of Hope’s Grief Takes a Hike weekend adventure camp and how it transformed their family and guided them in their healing process. Mrs. Verner was inspiration to all who listened and Fox Valley Hands of Hope thanks the Verner Family for being so willing to share their grief journey at Garden Party this year!

The proceeds of Garden Party benefit the programs and services of Fox Valley Hands of Hope, including Project Hope, a grief support program now in 39 schools, G.R.A.S.P group for individuals and families who have experienced a death as a result of substance use or addiction, Cherished Children group supporting parents grieving the loss of an adult child who has passed away, and the new Young Adult Grief Journey support group for teens ages 14-19 who have experienced the death of a significant person in their lives.

Thanks to our Garden Party Sponsors, without whom this event would not be possible!
