As Garden Party quickly approaches, we are excited to announce our Garden Party guest speaker:

The Verner Family

The Verner family came to Fox Valley Hands of Hope through Grief Takes a Hike Camp, our weekend family retreat designed for families to experience the therapeutic value of nature in community with other grieving families. Parents, Kimberly & Dwayne, along with their children, Daylon, Dorian, Kearany, and Kimberly, attended camp together after the sudden and unexpected passing of their 17 year old son, due to an diagnosed heart problem, while playing in a basketball game in March of 2017.

The Verner family is a testament to the transformative experience that Grief Takes a Hike brings to the families who attend. Grief Takes a Hike provides families with companionship and compassion on their grief journey.  When asked, “What would you tell other families about Grief Takes a Hike?”, one participant responded, “It’s a wonderful way to connect, show support, be supported and create friendships.”  If there is one thing we know for certain, when we journey through grief together, we are not alone.

Fox Valley Hands of Hope is excited to welcome the Verner Family as our guest speakers
