Fox Valley Hands of Hope is truly a volunteer driven organization. Last year over 375 individuals gave of their time and talents to make the FVHH mission come to life for those in need. No matter what their role, volunteers at FVHH make a difference.
Occasionally volunteers move on and we have to say a reluctant good bye. Such is the case with Geary Axen. Geary has been a member of the FVHH Board of Directors for six years. He has served as treasurer, finance committee chair and member of our investment committee. His experience and counsel have been invaluable. Geary has helped make FVHH a stronger organization and we thank him for his service.
With every good bye also comes an opportunity for hello. Jonathan Gripe of St. Charles has joined our Board of Directors. Jon has been a longtime supporter of FVHH and brings over 40 years of financial services experience to the board. He has been with Edward Jones since 2007 and has over 40 years in the financial services industry. He grew up in West Lafayette, IN, and graduated from Indiana University. “The aspect of my job that I most enjoy is helping people and making a difference in their lives personally and financially. I take particular pleasure in helping small business owners keep more of the money they make.” said Gripe. Jon is also the president of St. Charles Kiwanis and sits on the State Attorney’s Deferred Prosecution Panel. He resides in St. Charles with his wife Pam and four children.
“I believe that Jon will make a wonderful addition to our Board of Directors. We are looking forward to his input and assistance to help FVHH continue to grow and deliver quality services to the community.” said Greg Weider, Executive Director.
In addition to Jon, members of the 2019 board of directors are President Jack Saylors, Vice President/Secretary Bev DeJovine, Treasurer David Weisman, Jim Diorio, Sherri Dublin, Brandon Hoeft, Ed Hunter, Carolyn Jansons, John Mason, Christine Mueller and immediate past president Joe Baron.
Volunteers are the key to our success. Thank you to those who serve on our Board of Directors!
